A message from the director

Almost seven years of significant enhancements and changes have passed.

These have not only affected Fondazione GraphiTech but also its surroundings – often referred to as “the local environment” - which, of course, in turn has shaped the Foundation’s developments.

In fact if, on the one hand, GraphiTech’s “conceptual route” cannot be traced independently from its environmental developments, on the other hand, the Foundation has set trends that have in turn moulded profound changes within its surrounding environment.

The extent to which these facts are closely interwoven will become clear from the following brief retrospective which will bring the reader through past, present and future research activities and visions pursued by GraphiTech.

Along with John Hagel’s idea of innovation as “the ability to create and capture economic value from invention” GraphiTech is delivering “tangible innovation” through its scientific and industrial research and development activities at local, national, EU and international level.

Yours sincerely,

Raffaele De Amicis
