ELIN will focus on personalisation of 'Live Newspapers' by development of interoperable solutions and a platform for flexible Newspaper on demand request.
Emphasis is on end-users, which means focusing on easy to use, customizable, affordable and interoperable solutions and platform.
ELIN will solve the ease of use constrains by embedding intelligence into vital process of Newspaper, supporting smart agents for enhancement of ease of use and the day to day reading/listening to news updated by e.g. IP and wireless communication. But the integration of structure and information in order to reflect 'Live Newspaper' is not limited to this scenario. By the use of Media, producers of newspapers will be able to make more interesting news articles and add interactivity to possible 'Live Newspapers'. Scalable solutions for advertisement not only on Electronic paper media but also on different handheld computers and smart phones will provide the means for the industrial partners to provide these devices more or less free of charge. 3D advertisement will provide new user-friendly approaches for advertisement in combination with the interactivity possibilities of MPEG-4.

GraphiTech works on the implementation of the publishing client and publishing manager component of ELIN.
The publishing client and manager will enable the newspaper publisher to create, edit and publish visual, audio and textual news, 3D objects and MPEG-7 descriptions of the news in a comfortable way into the ELIN system.
