The project has seen Graphitech involved as consultant to design the central geo-database and middleware structure of the forthcoming local Spatial Data Infrastructure. The project has required the definition of the logical structure of a central geo-database capable to manage the geospatial data of all offices at Provincia di Trento. The study has identified technological and functional requirements as well as of all components required to set up a number of Geographical Web services including but not limited to:

• WMS: Web Map Service
• WFS: Web Feature Service
• CS-W: Catalog Service for the Web

The project has identified the best technologies available and it has defined a set of guidelines to deploy the different components of the infrastructure following a Service Oriented Architecture, following the guidelines set by the European Directive INSPIRE - Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (http://inspire.jrc.ec.europa.eu/).
