GEPSUS training “3D-GIS applications in emergency management” has been organized from 28 August until 1 September 2014 in newly opened MOD GEPSUS centre. The first day of training has started with the system installation, basics of navigation and 3D-GIS applications. In the following days the training has been dedicated to the data creation and preparing scenarios, exercising scenarios, and 3D-GIS applications and experiences from GraphiTech foundation.

We are very proud to announce that MOD NATO GEPSUS Centre, situated in the facilities of the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro, at Military Airport Golubovci, will be officially opened on 2 September 2014. Together with the first UNI NATO GEPSUS Centre, officially opened on 3 July 2014 at the University of Montenegro, constitute the GEPSUS system in Montenegro.
From 28 August until 1 September 2014 will also be organised GEPSUS training “3D-GIS applications in emergency management” in MOD GEPSUS Centre. The opening of the Centre will coincide with a closing ceremony of the GEPSUS project, and will be an opportunity to summarize the results and achievements of this very important project for Montenegro.


GEPSUS consortium meeting has been held from 29 June - 4 July 2014 in Podgorica, Montenegro. The consortium has had the honour to meet the minister of defence of Montenegro, attending the opening ceremony of the GEPSUS training centre at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. During the meeting, the Israeli partner EMESCO has organized training session on security, and the first participants have received a diploma of participation.
The event has also been the occasion to visit the Military airport of Podgorica, where the commander of the air force presented the control centre to be finalized and officially opened in September 2014.
There has been a great interest of media for this event. Many institutions, newspapers, TV and radio stations have spread the news about GEPSUS project and importance of its results for the safety and environmental protection of Montenegro.

The 2nd Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing (MECO) has been organized from 15-20 June 2013 in Budva (Montenegro). During this conference, the GEPSUS project and its results have been presented.

GEPSUS partners and the representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro have met in Slovenia in order to define the activities for the last year of the project. The main project activities refer to the opening of GEPSUS training centre at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and GEPSUS centre for simulation at the Military airport Golubovci in Podgorica. During their stay, they have visited the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia and its Administration for civil protection and disaster relief, as well as training centre of civil protection where they perform trainings for emergency situations. Furthermore, they have visited Centre for the simulation of military exercises in Postojna (Slovenia).

This meeting was of great importance for the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro and further development of project activities, since the Republic of Slovenia has a developed and integrated system of civil protection.

Summer School

Word Wind Europa Challenge

Together with NASA and the Polytechnics of Milan, Fondazione Graphitech is organizing a Summer School, so called "Word Wind Europa Challenge". This camp will involve a community of students and teachers from several Universities and Research centers throughout Europe, with the aim to create new applications based on World Wind.
