LA RICERCA TRENTINA SI AFFERMA IN EUROPA
Il Sistema Trentino dell’Alta formazione e Ricerca è il partner italiano del nuovo prestigioso Istituto Europeo della Tecnologia e dell’Innovazione (EIT – European Istitute of Innovation and Technology). Oggi alle 12.30 la conferenza stampa di presentazione di questo risultato, presso la Sala Fedrizzi del palazzo della Provincia.
La notizia è giunta ieri in tarda serata e sarà ufficializzata questa mattina.
Al termine di una durissima selezione che ha coinvolto tutte le più importanti realtà scientifiche e industriali europee, sono stati individuati i tre consorzi europei più rilevanti sulle tematiche strategiche delle tecnologie della informazione e della comunicazione, dei cambiamenti climatici e dell’energia sostenibile. L’unico attore italiano del consorzio che si e’ aggiudicato un ruolo all'interno dell' EIT per ICT (tecnologie per l'informazione e la comunicazione) è il Sistema Trentino dell’Alta Formazione e Ricerca. La partecipazione trentina coinvolge le più importanti realtà locali della ricerca e dell’alta formazione nelle ICT: FBK-IRST (presentatore del progetto), Università di Trento, Create-Net, GraphiTech, CNR ISTC-LOA e CELCT.
Il Sistema Trentino dell’Alta Formazione e Ricerca figura quindi come partner associato delle più importanti realtà accademiche europee, quali la TU di Berlino, il DFKI ed il Max-Plank (Germania), l’INRIA (Francia), il KTH (Svezia), il TKK (Finlandia), ed il Consorzio dei Politecnici olandesi. Aderiscono al consorzio aziende del calibro di Nokia, Ericsson, Philips, Alcatel-Lucent, SAP e British Telecom.

GraphiTech will present some of its research achievements at the First International Conference on Multimedia, Computer Graphics and Broadcasting (MulGraB 2009) to be held on December 10 - 12, 2009 at the International Convention Center Jeju, Jeju Island, Korea.
MulGraB 2009 will be the most comprehensive conference focused on the various aspects of advances in Multimedia, Computer Graphics and Broadcasting. The conference provides a chance for academic and industry professionals to discuss recent progress in the area of Multimedia, Computer Graphics and Broadcasting.

GraphiTech has been invited to join the December '09 OGC (open Geospatial Consortium Inc) Technical Committee Meetings which will be held at Google headquarters in Mountain View, California. Technical and Planning Committee Meetings of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is a week long, quarter-yearly event, where the OGC Standards Working Groups and Domain Working Groups meet, evaluate findings and results, discuss and decide how to proceed. Graphitech, (Italy) has qualified to present at the European Venture Summit (EVS) sponsored by by North Rhine-Westphalia and the City of Düsseldorf, taking place on 30th November and 1st December in Dusseldorf.
The European Venture Summit, hosted by Europe Unlimited, showcases the best 120 young companies in Europe, within Life sciences, Cleantech and ICT. Graphitech qualified though the Trentino Technology Tour and was rated by expert investors as one of the top 10 investable companies from the contest. |

GraphiTech has been invited to join the Space Venture Training Contest and Investment Readiness Programme in Milan. The event is organized by Innovhub with support from the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, the Italian Council for Social Sciences (CSS) and ESynergy Limited and it is aimed at identifying young start-ups operating in the spatial and aereo-spatial domain, through research or industrial activities. |

The i-Tour project (http://www.itourproject.com/), on “Intelligent mobility systems and multi-modal interfaces for transport of passengers”. GraphiTech participates as technical manager of the project which has been approved by the EU within the FP7 programme (call ID SST.2008.3.1.2). The funded amount tops to € 4 Mil Euros for the entire project for a duration of 36 months.

NATURE-SDIplus project (http://www.nature-sdi.eu/ ) has been approved and has started its activities. The project has been financed under the eContentPlus programme. The project’s main aim is to establish a Best Practice Network on geographical information for nature conservation to stimulate the members and, in perspective, the target users to improving the harmonization of their datasets on nature conservation to better exploit and access them. The role of GraphiTech is both as a Task Leader and as a Data Provider.
